In September 2020, six months into the COVID lockdown, Jeremiah and his wife, Carrie, sold their home in Los Angeles and purchased Lumos, a 40-foot sailing catamaran in the Caribbean Island of Grenada. Along with their two young sons (then 6 and 8 years old), they set sail as full-time liveaboard cruisers, embracing a life-changing adventure at sea. Over the next two years, they sailed over 6,500 nautical miles, transited the Panama Canal, and visited 14 different countries before eventually selling their boat in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and returning to land life in Los Angeles. Jeremiah is excited to come to Yachtapalooza to share the story of his family’s cruising journey, and to offer insights, lessons learned, and advice for anyone considering a live aboard cruise in the future.
