Since June 2023, David King has served as a meteorologist at NWS Chicago. This office serves around 10 million residents across northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana, providing weather, marine, hydrologic, and aviation forecasts for the protection of life and property and the enhancement of the national economy. David started with the National Weather Service in 2019 at the NWS Monterey office which oversees the San Francisco Bay Area. Prior to working at the National Weather Service, David held several positions within the private sector. David has a bachelor’s degree in Meteorology from the University of Oklahoma, and a masters in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
