Mike and Nick Poulakos have been sailing for 5 years.  They purchased their first boat, "Bolero", a 1971 Pearson 30, in August 2012.  The brothers had no prior experience working on boats.  Mike works as a paralegal and Nick is a network administrator. 
With 70 years of recreational marine experience, the team of Dan, Ryan and John can give you the tips and advice needed to make sure all your voyages are 'Fantastic Voyages".
John Hoskins is a seasoned solo sailor and navigator with blue water experience that includes stints as navigator on multiple Transpac and Bermuda races.

Phil Pollard is the Sales Manager at Crowley's and has also utilized the latest software as navigator in offshore races.
Tom Pease is a partner with Perry Lewis at North Sails Midwest in Chicago. With the company for some thirty years, Tom has been involved in all aspects of making sails, including stints as service sail care manager and designer of new racing and cruising sails. In his current position as a sales consultant, Tom has the opportunity to work with numerous clients, helping determine the best solution to the specific criteria and requirements of each.

In his words, “As a boat owner myself, I try to provide the information I’d want if I were on the other end of the phone”.
Keith Church arrived in Chicago in 1983 after a successful career in Rhode Island as a shipwright. He was instrumental in establishing both the Chicago International Wooden Boat Show and the Chicago International Sailboat Show at Navy Pier. Before moving to Quantum, Keith spent nine years with Crowley's as our sales, purchasing and marketing manager during a critical period of growth.

Founded by a group of independent, experienced sail makers who shared a common vision, the Quantum Sail Design Group has been dedicated to overcoming the trend towards mass marketing and mediocrity in the sail making industry. Today, Quantum has more than 60 sales and service outlets throughout the world, with European headquarters in Barcelona, Spain and corporate offices in Traverse City, Michigan.
For many years Kris Habermehl, as the voice of Chopper Two on CBS Channel 2 and WBBM Radio’s flying traffic and news reporter, has recorded videos which document the changes along the Calumet River from year to year, as well as the diminishing number of the giant lake freighters to be seen along its banks. Winner of five regional Emmys as well as many other honors, Kris is also a certified Emergency Medical Technician and an active volunteer firefighter.
Discriminating boaters in Chicago have known for years that Jayne Parker does the best bright work refinishing and maintenance in the area. The only female yacht surveyor in the Midwest, Marian is one of 20 female surveyors in the small group of about 1,500 worldwide. She manages Schuss Marine Services, a Lake Michigan-based company that provides marine surveys, boat handling instruction and professional yacht deliveries. She has more than 20 years of boating experience and is an Accredited Marine Surveyor® (AMS®), a U.S Coast Guard licensed captain and a PADI® Advanced Open Water scuba diver.
Rick McClaren and Ken Veraerk represent The Great Lakes Singlehanded Society, an organization established for the perpetuation of the sport of solo sailing. It is one of the few organizations where no amount of money will purchase a membership - only by successfully completing a Port Huron to Mackinac, Chicago to Mackinac, Sault Ste. Marie to Duluth, the Lake Erie Solo Challenge, or the Lake Ontario 300 Solo Challenge is lifetime membership conveyed by the Society.
The founder and namesake of Crowley’s Yacht Yard, Grant Crowley has an insatiable thirst for knowledge on many topics, especially those which are boat and equipment related. He is a founding member of the Chicago Maritime Society, and an active member of Friends of the Chicago River, the Chicago Yachting Association, the Chicago area lodge of the International Ship Masters Association and the Chicago Yacht Club as well as many of the charitable and educational organizations supported by the CYC Foundation.
Jon is the Rigging Department Manager and Head Rigger at Crowley's Yacht Yard. He is from the United Kingdom where he studied Yacht Manufacturing and Boatyard Management at Southampton Solent University, graduating with a degree in Yacht Manufacturing Technology. After working as a high end custom boat builder he joined Yacht Rigging Services of Plymouth, United Kingdom, before moving to the island of Bermuda in 2004 to operate a rigging shop. Jon has extensive offshore racing experience, with years spent racing in the English Channel and Bay of Biscay, and also including the Fastnet and Newport-Bermuda races.
A renowned physicist and professor of electrical engineering and computer science, Dr. Gerald Thomas is very active in Chicago's sailing community. In addition to his leadership of the Chicago Maritime Society, he is president of Columbia Yacht Club's Chester Kuttner Foundation which provides sailing school scholarships for inner city children and the Judd Goldman Foundation which offers the opportunity to sail for persons with disabilities. He is past commodore of the Columbia Yacht Club and the Chicago Yachting Association.
